“Breaking: Suspect in Fremont Murder Case Surrenders to Authorities in Pleasanton”
A 47-year-old man wanted in connection with a homicide in Fremont has turned himself in at the Pleasanton Police Department. Abbasin Hoshmand of Fremont was arrested on suspicion of murder following an incident reported on Thursday around 4:40 p.m. in the 40400 block of Grimmer Boulevard.
Upon arrival, Fremont police discovered an unidentified man lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Alameda County coroner has placed a press hold on the victim’s identification.
After the shooting, Fremont detectives quickly determined that Hoshmand was a likely suspect and began pursuing investigative leads throughout various Bay Area cities.
Hoshmand voluntarily surrendered early Friday morning, according to Fremont police. He was subsequently handed over to Fremont authorities, who are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and the motive behind the shooting.
